STEPPING BLOCKS across the river....






This site features the project "City of water -Chulalongkorn University Exposition", work in progress of an international group of architects on behalf of the Faculty of Architecture - Chulalongkorn University of Bangkok.
The project will start in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 1999 and through a series of related events will end at the beginning of the new millennium.
We will start with a boat trip from Bangkok up north through the Chao Phraya River. A 10 days trip to Nakon Sawan, further north toward Sirikit Dam. We will travel on the water, it will be a river exploration. An exploration made out of practical work, of desire.
During this journey when the boats stop, then it is time to work. Every one, every group, will be working on his fragment of instant city. Someone will build a disposable movie-theatre, with beautiful movies going all night long, someone will build an enclosed garden to leave it there as a mark of our passage...
